Protest, 2013

Client: The Corn Exchange and New Greenham Arts

I provided curatorial support for the exhibition Protest that was held at The Corn Exchange Newbury & New Greenham Arts Centre.

The exhibition and events programme centred on artists Thomson & Craighead’s work ‘October’ a documentary artwork about the early rise and fall of the Occupy movement. It was made entirely from information found on the Internet and was specially commissioned by Brighton Photo-biennial 2012.

The Protest Programme also included: Tony Benn in conversation, film screening of Budrus, performance by contemporary folk protest singer Grace Petrie, performance of The Cellist of Sarajevo by Champagne Ensemble, film screening of 5 Broken Cameras, performance by The Vocal Abolitionists and performance by contemporary blues singer Sean Taylor.
