‘Interim’ was a series of performances and temporary commissions that I produced in collaboration with artist and singer Phil Owen occurred across the building in Spike Island during the annual Open Studios.
The concept for Interim drew on the Open Studios as an event, which incorporates many facets of artistic practice, draws broad publics, showcases artistic process and is momentary. The series took inspiration from the various incarnations of the Frieze Projects, Art Perform at Art Basel Miami Beach, which profiled experimental location-specific performance programmes.
The project involved the following artists and artist groups: ILLANON, Pete Barratt, Jennifer Campbell, Martin Hamblen, Ellen Wilkinson and And Publishing (Lynn Harris & Eva Weinmayr).
The performance Secret Swim, 2010 by Jennifer Campbell was documented in film and went on to become a new work Swim Tune, 2011, which was presented at The Forum, Norwich as part of an off site project by The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.
